Been dipping a toe into New Wave recently. It's fucking great (except when it starts to go too 80's).

Been really enjoying a bit of old and new blues recently - Lightning Hopkins, Mississippi John Hurt, Otis Taylor etc. Also a fan of the Honeyblood and Royal Blood albums.

Need to get some decent stuff for the car ASAP though.

Honeyblood - if that's the band I'm thinking of, one of the lassies is the daughter of one of the guys from Blues 'n' Trouble.

Although I like to classify my taste as eclectic...

For instance - Buckwheat Zydeco is my last viewed YT video....

Just checked out Drowners.

They are that much of a Libertines rip off I can barely stand to listen to it. Laugh

I've never properly listened to the Libertines so can't comment, seen them live a few times and they've been excellent.

Lead singer is a former Runway Model which is sort of weird I guess, gave up his modelling career to focus on music.

Give Drenge a listen to, they're a lot heavier and "grunge-y" if you will.

Run the Jewels 2 is out, highly recommended. It's fucking amazing. They're playing the garage in glasgow on wednesday.

Looking to pick up a few new albums so will be trawling through the end of year lists.

Heard this brilliant song on the radio a few weeks ago - these boys really know how to slip in a key change.

Strangely, it's better if you don't watch the video - not that it's a terrible video.

It's been mostly Mastodon and Mogwai for me this weekend, and probably much of the upcoming week. However, if I'm desperate to know what the latest flavour of the week hipster drivel is, I'll be sure to revisit this thread.
