It's probably nothing special to anyone that didn't see it first as a twelve year old. Luckily I did. I never had any movies later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?
All the dreyfuss narration was added in post. There'd be such a different feel to the movie without him. The other thing I found out that I love about Stand By Me is that Rob Reiner encouraged Kiefer Sutherland to pick on the will wheaton et al on set so they'd have some real needle on camera

I read the lollipop article that Jean-Pierre posted, from the Sunday Sport, and then saw your post immediately afterwards about two young kids growing up an apart. seemed quite the juxtaposition.
