You either like playing games or you don't. I like pretty specific genres, i'm not one of those people that will just buy games on the chance they might be good. That said for a year the only game i've played consistently right through is fifa.

I've got a 3yr old. You'd need to have issues to get competitive playing games with young kids.
Bloody love football, me, but I haven't bought a FIFA since 11. Seems to be all about Ultimate Team (i.e. spend lots of money to win). I imagine that "friendlies" online are just Real Madrid v Bayern/Barca/another Real Madrid. Fair?

Depends.
They try match star ratings so if you constantly go barca you'll get bayern or real.
If you go someone like arsenal you can get paired with loads of teams.

That was the main aim of the game in FIFA 09. You could train any player you wanted up to a 99 rating. You also had to work out which training cards and coaches to use when training the players, it was great.
