Tit or bottle? Poll to see if there is any trends and comparisons to be drawn between shitposting etc. FWIW I don't see anything wrong with being bottle fed, entirely the mother's choice and IMO, I think far too much pressure is put on mothers to breastfeed these days.

May as well have an argument anaw about breastfeeding in public and if you are one of the utter weirdos that it even registers when the most natural thing in the world is happening in your vicinity.

When you say bottled do you mean powdered or tit milk in a bottle?

For the poll, I'd say powder. Change the poll to formula if you can.

I genuinely don't know and the even sadder thing is i'd be too embarrassed to ask my mum.  Saying that as a grown man I still feel awkward watching TV and a sex scene comes on and my mum is there.

On the contrary i dont think young mothers are made aware of the massive benefits of breastfeeding to child and her. I also dont think theyre given enough support to actually get the process going. A lot of mothers just give up because they dont think its working properly.

This is a good point. My point was more about the armpit haired Nazis that try and ram it home with no consideration to the mother's mental health and the stress they are already under.

There is help available. My wife used to work as part of a health visiting team and used to do a lot to help mum's who want to breast feed. The bigger problem is the stigma associated with breastfeeding in public from some makes a lot of (especially young) mothers feel uncomfortable doing it. I saw it myself when my wife was feeding our two although she got more embarrassed by me making snidey comments to the folk muttering away about than anything they said tbf Laugh

It's the supermums online who'd have you believe they're cooking a la carte (sorry Mak) meals with a kid hanging off each tit that are the big problem, your average mum struggling with the day to day looking after the kids can't compete and end up feeling inadequate.

My Wife actually talked about doing the job your Wife did. I agree with you about it being more difficult for younger Mothers though.

Is she a nurse? My wife ended up jacking it and going onto district nursing and now works in a hospice. She enjoyed it but didn't feel like spending half her time stabbing kids was helping her to develop her skills.

Help isn't that available, or wasn't for me anyway.

I found it really, really hard to breast feed at first (and I mean it took 7 long weeks for it finally to click). Due to some complications from labour I was in for 4 days after my little boy was born and despite the efforts of the midwifery team at the hospital we still had huge issues feeding but I was adamant I wanted to feed him myself.
I was extremely bolshy about it beforehand, it would feed myself and that would be that, it's the most natural thing in the world right? No-one told me how hard it was, it felt like everyone kept that bit a secret. If I had known how difficult it could be (for some it's easy and that brilliant) I could have better prepared myself for it, for the pain, the hormones, the getting the baby to feed in the first place, the tears.

Out of 10 women who went to antenatal class together all of us breastfed but only myself and another made it past 2 weeks. They all gave up (their choice, no judgement) because they weren't prepared for how hard it would be.

Sorry most of you probably don't want to hear all that.
