What would he think about the current state of affairs? Its funny how he was hated for wielding his axe.

Told this anecdote loads of times but I was in hospitality for the 2012 final and we came up the steps about 15 seconds before Mr Romanov.

Checking in to our table and he strolls up behind in his Hearts kilt with the biggest beaming smile you'll ever see. He was heading past us to the boardroom but stopped and said hi to all the Hearts fans there.
People have their criticisms of Vlad and you can understand that to an extent, but the man absolutely loved this club and its fans, and I won't hear a word to the contrary.

Pretty sure he got a supporters bus to Livingston once. Budge would never ever do a thing like that. He was a true man of the people.

Whatever else he did, he ultimately stopped that bastard pie man selling the ground and taking us to the wall. Mr Romanov bought out the Cala contract with his own cash and stopped the sale going ahead. Forever grateful.

But Budge was drinking in merchie hearts and had time for everyone the day we collected the championship trophy. There's no need to look at budge's supposed shortcomings to further glory Mr Romanov.

He genuinely loved the club. His empire was slipping away from him. Scary that folk thought he was choosing not to put money into the club rather than understanding that the man was trying his damnest to keep his businesses going and his family safe. Must've been stressful as hell.
