Where would this cup win rank amongst 98, 2012 and the awkward middle child 2006 for everyone if we went down? Happy for that squad to be talked about amongst the rest? If we go down they and Budge don't deserve a Hearts cup win.

If we go down we're clearly coming right back up check the state of the rest of the teams in that league. ICT are probably second best behind dundee Utd and they are horrendous.

It'll be hard to win it because someone will need to put Celtic out but we have a good chance of winning it tbf since our style seems to suit teams who come out and you can't sit in in a cup match.

Staying up has to still be the main focus but winning the cup too would be class

If we win the cup, obviously a huge if, it's highly likely we will still have big league games after it. At this juncture it's highly unlikely we would be more than 6pts ahead of BOTH St Mirren and Hamilton with 2 games to go and just as unlikely we would be 6pts behind both. It would mean a 13pt swing (due to current goal difference) in the next 9 games for us to be safe over St Mirren by the time the Cup Final is played which seems pretty improbable. I can see the last 2 league games which could easily see us against at least one of them be very pivotal.

The Scottish Cup Final is on the 9th May this year. 

There are SPL games on the 12/13th May and the 16/17th May.

The SPL play off games are 20th and 24th May.

So there are none of the waiting 2 weeks to play nonsense for whoever ends up in 11th.

Partick are currently on target to be released from the Championship by the way so will not be in the play offs!

Thought he spoke a lot of sense in his pre match conference today again. Very pleased about the discipline especially defensively on Saturday but equally you can tell he is demanding a consistency and that it can't simply be a one off again. Keeping the feet on the ground as we have not managed to produce back to back performances like that. Whits pleased to win the cup game as it shows the players it works when they do as asked the league is all important. You could tell he privately refutes that the press is far from the main reason for the defensive lapses and much more because of individual errors and a lack of collective defensive discipline. Hopes that the players are learning. 

Said that the decision to move Smith back was a good one as he helped the back 4 organisationally and used his experience well. Pleased with Dikamona and commented on Damour doing well to play 90 minutes given he's had very limited game time. Sibbick is not available tomorrow. Asked about Hibs gave usual platitudes but thinks they are better than when we faced them in December, plans on us being better too! 

Isn't interested in where the semi-final is played, has never been to Hampden so is excited about that prospect but motioned with his arms that its miles off and NOW is what is important to him.
