Speaks volumes about the selection process that Neil McCann is granted an interview but Stendel is a long shot, maybe it's his wages or budget expectations but they could do worse than hear him out.

McCann has done fuck all as a coach or manager and being an ex player isn't a valid reason for an interview.

Hopefully hearts pull something out the bag here I just can't see it with Budge and co at the helm, they seem incapable and last time they got it horribly wrong.

My fear is that she underestimates fan feeling on this and appoints another dud. Appointing Levein was a joke and a bridge to far for some, but if she appoints McCann.... Fat Cunt

The JW fans will give McCann a shot, but ultimately if she gets this appointment wrong and it is really sounding like she's heading that way then she's going to end up getting borderline Pieman levels of vitriol fired at her, because the wrong appointment now means a certain relegation battle.

It won't matter if it's a monkey from Corstorphine hill in a suit, of even a tracksuit, the injured players will recover and we'll be top three again. Monty Oh You

If it's going to genuinely be a manager of that calibre I'd rather we just stuck with Macphee tbh.

We need to be way more ambitious than McCann, I like him but he shouldn't be hearts manager based on his career so far.

I think even the staunchest jammie wearer wouldn't be happy with McCann being appointed in any role bar maybe under 16's or similar.

If hearts think he's a suitable candidate and he drags us down it could get very ugly at tynecastle, we have a great squad, injuries have left us a bit short but with the correct manager this team won't struggle.

Looks like Budge's plan is working a treat.

Budge is moving the Overton window for acceptable managers with talk of McCann and McCall. Warnock

Guy I work with just received a text from his mate on the coaching staff at Hearts telling him to put £50 on Stendel.

We're apparently speaking to him but a sticking point is he was previously on £6k a week at Barnsley which we can't match.
