Despite it being minging to watch, things had been so bad that just seeing a passionate manager who had us organised and solid was refreshing. Then yeah, he threw the toys out and same as any manager who plays rank football, results really are everything and as soon as they start to go, you are in big trouble. By the end I was desperate for him to leave
To be fair, he spent his last year here being trolled rotten by Romanov over the striker situation. Dangling players like Nuno Gomes in front of him and then signing Witteveen instead.
Try playing entertaining football with Nade, Witteveen, Glen, Obua or Mole as your striking options.

Austrian juniors we got him from eh? RB Salzburg's third team or something? The leagues that don't even come up on Livescore unless the big leagues are off.

Think that was Csaba. I remember him really wanting some defender from Austria called Farkas (?) and going in the huff when we put the brakes on him being signed.

The scoreline in a League Cup 1/4 final win at Parkhead if I remember correctly!
By the time the semi-final came around JJ was back and we produced one of the most insipid performances I've ever witnessed in losing to St Mirren at Fir Park in front of about 6000 Hearts fans. Rancid. Just looked at the team and we had Jason Thomson, Gordon Smith, Gary Glen and David Kucharski involved

Pretty sure that was when Motherwell had an absolutely rancid pitch anaw, big bits of turf getting gouged out the ground.
