Worst Signings of Budge Era

Was thinking earlier about who would be the top 5 worst signings of the Budge Era. 

Not necessarily the worst footballers we have signed but a combination of how bad they were, and how much they probably cost financially in terms of wages (biggest flop signings I suppose).

If you're taking value for money into account then it's going to be difficult to argue for anyone except Oshaniwa, but at least signing him showed a bit of imagination.

The worst ones for me are the signings we all knew would be shite as soon as they were announced - Sammon, Swanson, Cowie, White and a long list of others.

My view of Hughes is probably coloured by the fact I unfortunately went to that Livi match. I hardly ever go to away games as well



Also I imagine Hughes was getting paid a fair whack to be pretty poor. Did he not get a 1 year extension from Levein as well and basically never played. A nice wee Levein Pension Pot Bonus

I think Pereira's going to be hard to beat.

As shite as a lot of others have been, and as much as I hated Bozanic and MacLean, at least both had occasional positive moments. The other terrible players mentioned were usually bombed out before causing too much damage. Pereira routinely shipped simple goals that must have cost a good dozen points minimum over the course of most of a season. I don't think he made any saves of note and of the 4-5 clean sheets he did keep, any goalie would have managed the same.

Of the many stupid things Stendel did, not signing a keeper in January or just dropping Pereira before it was too late was almost certainly the worst of the lot. If Bobby or even Doyle had been in goals for the season, I don't think we'd have gone down. That's how bad the Hologram was.
