Not to mention he was basically Liverpool manager when they appointed Dalglish.

Forgot about that, true.

Honestly, when he came up to Killie, he barely broke a sweat in making them best of the rest up here.

Given he clearly builds a rapport and trust in his team, how would a massive turnover in playing staff suit?

Other than Moyes, who does? Except Del.

Clarke’s stature is on a different planet to McGlynn’s no? Chelsea legend as a player, assistant to Mourinho for years then managed EPL sides and was a level above when he came back to Scotland.

McGlynn could probably add some value to the Scotland setup but you’re not considering him for the main job. Maybe if Moyes says no in summer and we can’t get anyone good interested, you go a bit left field with something like McGlynn assisting Darren Fletcher as the front man.

I'm not sure McGlynn would fancy a "big" move, especially at this point in his life. If he were 10 years younger then you'd definitely see more clubs sniffing around him. What he's done with Falkirk is superb and there's a case to be made that if Raith weren't such a basket case off the field when he was there he could have taken them up.

True but bro loves football. He might see it as he doesn’t have many years left so would like a crack at something a little bigger as this chance isn’t going to come again

He kind of strolled it up here briefly with killie. Spent all his career in English top flight really.

Someone's assistant manager doesn't scream gravitas.

Yeah I think he’d be perfect for that Warnock it makes sense no?

This is close to being disingenuous, 2na. The comparison was with John McGlynn, not whether being assistant manager to mourinho = screams gravitas.

The exact opposite. How do you build a rapport and trust with a new team every year? That takes time.

Instant rapport is for the Liam Rosenior's of this world. It's just a bullshit word they think they can impose. Someone like McGlynn earns it with his team and that takes time.

Neither are swaggering in to the world of international football and flicking their cyber manes.

He’s absolutely a great scout too. Was Celtic scout for years under Rodgers, which is when he started viewing football differently and soaking up the Rodgers way.

Loves watching lower league Scottish games and keeping his finger on that pulse.

It's probably a bit too late in the day for McGlynn to make a go at a big team but he should absolutely be a case study for up and coming managers in terms of his journey and the things he's done outside of being manager. All the guys I know who work for Raith still harp on about the amount of time and focus he puts in on video analysis. He's one of the "old guard" who's actually moved with the times.

I hope he gets a few pennies to spend next season thanks to a top 6 finish and would be happy to see him bag the cup this season. Apart from being pals with David Goodwillie, he's a good lad.

McGlynn is a good guy and the players always love him. You’ve decided it takes years for Mcglynns players to trust him to suit your argument when reality is that both at Raith and Falkirk the players immediately take to him and get instant results.

Rosenoir is a fraud and another wild tangent to take this debate Warnock

Trust always takes time to develop. That's just the nature of trust. Get a girlfriend and you'll understand.
