The end of last season and the beginning of this season.

We are seriously short of (quality) players.

Even if we planned to get knocked out at every first chance in the EL/ECL. What the fucks going on?

Its fucking irritating. Yeh, "we've signed players". But if we want to improve/consolidate 3rd next season, what the fucks going on? We are seriously short of quality players.

We may squeeze through against FCZ but then add in the fixtures to the league, we are going to get taken doggy style in the group stage and then in the league. Morale is going to be destroyed. 3rd place this season?   Monty But

Alarm bells are ringing. Quality over quantity  Fat Cunt

When exactly is the cut off point for signing players for the EL/ECL?

Somehow, with the world at our feet, Hearts still make it absolutely Jos.

Money for nothing, chicks for free.
Dire Straits.

Just another year of having so much potential with a manager that should be working in tesco.

We're only a couple of bits of quality away from being a really good time. The front 4 we have if we play that way is as good as anything we've had for years.

1 minute away from 9 points from 9 and well in it against the Swiss champions. Could be a lot worse.

I reckon we'll see some signings shortly.

We are flying close to the sun though for the windows closing.

The money difference between the EL/ECL isnt that much and we should do fine either way. So why all this mystique about getting new players? Any other club in the SPFL would have their players in by now it seems.

"Aye, Robbie's messing with the journo's heeds".

Fuck off man. We need players in now.

What other fans after our finish last season and the money we earned then to now would be posting pics of :ithinktheresbeenarapeupthere: regarding our coming match on Sunday just after tonights result?

'squeezing past Zurich' would be literally our best result in many a year  Warnock either way we'll skoosh 3rd and have some deeeecent European evenings this season. Calm down.

Where do people get this confidence to just see third place as an obvious foregone conclusion? Warnock

I can understand thinking we'll finish third, but this 'obviously we'll skoosh it' mentality is weird given that we've finished third two seasons in a row about once in my lifetime. If we manage it it'll be a genuine achievement, not something to write off as a foregone conclusion a couple of games into the season.

Because we're better than the other teams competing for it and will be more consistent over the course of a season Jezza

It's the single thing I have confidence in Robbie delivering, with or without European commitments.

On balance I do think we should finish third. I just think it's a bit strange to treat it like a foregone conclusion, with anything else to be treated as a bonus on top of our guaranteed third place.

Would be feeling more confident about third if we had spent money on established players rather than projects from the bush leagues. Starting the season with a Devlin/Haring midfield combo, one decent striker and no extra experience at CH or keeper is counting quite a lot of chickens tbh Eek

Probably overreacted with the thread but we are just a few injuiries away from disaster. We do need a bit more quality in the team.

Think the rest of the potential competitors for 3rd are all at pretty similar levels which is a bonus for us. If Dundee United were a level above Aberdeen or Hibs (like they looked like they would be on paper), you'd be worried about them getting a lead on us through the group stages but it looks like they're all pretty similar so will keep dropping points regularly. Just need to keep winning all our non-OF home games up to Christmas and picking up a few draws/wins away and we'll be alright.

Don't think your thread is an over-reaction 'Zog, with a bit more confidence in our signing policy (might still happen) I feel this season would be akin to our 14-15 season, certainly wrt to the rest of the league's dregs anyway.  The same issues, and by that I mean deficiencies in certain positions still exist three weeks in.

Funny enough, right after the game ended, they interviewed Gordon on the pitch. He sounded absolutely knackered Laugh

Anyone know when Joe Savage was last spotted? Have we given him the month off or something?
