Humpty didn't fancy coming to hearts in the first place and didn't have any intentions of staying here long term was what I heard when he first joined.

He's got a connection with the fans now tho, had a really good loan spell so far and has had scored goals in some big moments.  Shirely seeing how good it could be here for him could be a bit of a head turner, shanks Boyce and humpreys would leave us very strong up top for options.

Think he'll go the way of simms though, hard to keep these players in Scotland who don't have much connection to the club/country.

Wigan are almost certainly going down. Surely he can't give up big games like today and Europe to go and play in League One in front of 10 fans. Build your profile here and you'll get a good move down south if that's the aim.

Are Wigan not a kick in the arse from going into administration? Jezza

Would love to keep him, but can see him going back down the road sadly.

I honestly don't see whatever else is getting excited about, good goal today but he's very assembly line league 1 type, like Connor Washingtonesque

Think he's got much much more to him than Washington. There was a wee period before he got injured where everything exciting that we did went through Humphrey's. Don't think Washington ever did anything exciting.

Humphrey's presses players constantly, is fast as fuck and isn't afraid to take a shot.

Don't want to get too carried away but he has shown promise after I was one of his harshest critics. I'm the first to push back on these Conor Washington Cole Stockton types, would rather go for a Scottish player that's already done it in the leagues instead of taking punts on people who don't want to play up here.

Humpty has proved me wrong though, I see a him as a bit of a Craig Beattie type. Seems like a nice guy in interviews too

He's unlikely to be a regular starter when everyone fit. But our injuries show it's about a squad.

And don't see how anyone would object to him being one of our 4-5 forwards. Shanks, Boycey, Oda, Humphreys, one other. Maybe Paterson. Would give a good mix of abilities across pace, poaching, running, linking, aerial.

He's solid. Takes his chances. Good runner. Can play second striker or RW. And his goal shows he gets the club and is popular with his teammates and fans.

I see him as a Ryan Stevenson type. Cult popularity. Especially after that celebration.

I was one who criticised for a panic short term signing who couldn't get near Wigan bench. I take it back.

Will take a fee to get him though. Hopefully a modest one. Please stay Bumphreys.
