The Neilson one I can put some logic behind as he's came back and done quite well at least initially, folk might think it's better the devil you know than letting these go and bring in another primary school teacher.

Any normal board would realise the only way they might save their own skin is with a few proper process followed by the appointment of an exciting new Head Coach.

Not Budge and McKinley though. It will be cloak and dagger, more than likely another cheap disappointment.

Get them to fuck.

That's half the problem man see when I hear some of the things fans come out with it makes me fucking seethe even more, you can see why it's so easy for Budge and the likes to pull the wool over their eyes at every turn.

He got tag teamed to within an inch of his life. jjay

Did we ever see Boateng and Baningime play together more than once? I'm not saying Boateng was a great player or anything, but it was a tidy pairing that helped get the ball out to more creative players quickly. Worked a treat against St. Mirren and I'm not sure we ever saw it again.

He also seemed to freeze out players completely who were no worse than the ones getting way too much playing time. Again, Oda wasn't the answer, but we badly needed some pace out wide. Forest is limited, but clearly better than Musa. Just a lot of strange decisions all around. Stuck to the same 14/15 players who just weren't delivering week in, week out.

There was a period playing 4-4-2/4-2-4 where it looked like it was clicking and things were going to work for Critchley

His obsession with ‘controlling the game’ led to the diamond which nullified Wilson, Elton, Spittal and Penrice in one go. He was too stubborn to scrap it and now he’s on the dole.

A lesson in keeping it simple.

I forgot about Boateng. I liked him.. Mobile and put himself about. Seemed a good partner for Beni in a 4 2 3 1.

Was happy enough to get rid of boateng for cash, he wasn’t a creative/attacking type and we already had beni and Devlin.

Problem was the actual replacement didn’t really materialise but I don’t think boateng changes our fortunes at all.

See when you look at yesterday and how effective the back to basics is, reflecting on the mess Critchley got into is fucking mental man Laugh

Convinced himself that Shankland was a 10, that we had no wingers so this mental diamond was the only way.

Absolute madness man. We need a manager who realises simplicity is the way in this league. We’ll generally have better players than the other team so there’s no need to reinvent the wheel.

I was pleased to see Forrest in the team yesterday, just for any sort of pace and to have an actual winger. Spittal and Kartum being the closest we had to width was depressing.

Even Naismith knew to punt forrest out wide and provide width for the better players.

Critchley tied himself in knots. Youth team coach to his core

Fox would have had us in the top six, absolutely no doubt. That's not even an endorsement of Fox; it's an indictment of how badly wrong the youth coach got it that he dragged this squad back into a relegation scrap after getting clear with simple tactics.

The one half-decent thing about this side was the Penrice-Spittal combination, which was rendered useless by that diamond nonsense. Forrest is limited, but he gives you that energy and width that can work well enough in this league, ditto Vargas. I think that was the first time either had started a game in months.

Who in the board is going to walk for costing us a Scottish cup?

We can't let them away with this.

Hiring the leader of our club on Skype.

Same board (for the most part) that saw us hand the cup to Hibs as well…shocking.

Absolutely zero chance that gimp would have beaten Celtic in a cup final.

It's for the best. If he'd squeaked into the final, he'd have been given next season to ruin too.

Let’s just look upon it as the sheep did us a favour by getting rid of Critchley for us and then ruining Hibs day by winning the cup and also making the Tim’s more raging than usual.

I’d genuinely rather that than be going into next season with Critchley in charge. Monty Oh Well

We would have crumbled after the 1st goal and it would have been 4-0 by 75 minutes.

Fair play to the sheep, they were shite as were Celtic, but they didn't crumble, stuck to the plan and got the bit of luck they needed.

I just hope seeing that gives everyone at Hearts a boot up the arse and a real desire to win something next season. 13 years and counting.
