Safe to assume us, Celtic, Rangers, and probably Motherwell and Hibs will make the top 6. I'm going to assume the combination of a new manager and a game in hand sees Aberdeen make it too.

On the first 33 games completed, that'd see us:

Celtic - 2 at Tynecastle, 1 at Parkhead
Rangers - 1 at Tynecastle, 2 at Ibrox
Motherwell - 2 at Tynecastle, 1 at Fir Park
Hibs - 2 at Tynecastle, 1 at Easter Road
Aberdeen - 2 at Tynecastle, 1 at Pittodrie

So our fixtures if not messed with post split, would be:

Celtic A
Rangers H
Motherwell A
Hibs A
Aberdeen A

Is that right that after the split we'd end up with 4 away games out of 5? Does it work like that? Suppose given our first 33 games it'd be fair, but, it doesn't look it after the split. Aren't we all meant to end up with 2 at home and 3 away, or, the other way round?

Given our record at Pittodrie. And recently at Easter Road. That feels immediately 0 points. At least we'd be due Rangers at home and they look the more likely challenger for the league.

This split worries me. I don't know how they'll do us - but - they'll do us.

We need to end up with 19 home and away so either, most likely, Motherwell or the dandy dons will be in Edinburgh a third time.

If I could choose. It'd be to reverse the Aberdeen tie.

We never win there. We always win here.

They won't give us 4 away games. There's usually a team that ends up shafted with 18 home and 20 away (has been us quite a few times).

It's the timing of the fixtures that will be key. An absolute nap we are away to Celtic and Hibs first games.

We’re going to have to play them away anyway, would you not rather play them away and then have 2 home games to look forward to.

Can’t think of anything worse than needing 4 points from 6 and having to go Easter Road and Parkhead last 2 games of the season.

I don’t see the sheep making the top 6 unless they get their next managerial appointment spot on, and given Cormack’s previous on this front (Glass, Goodwin, Robson, Warnock & Thelin) I’m not convinced he’ll park his ego and make a sensible choice.

Regardless of who makes it, we’ll have 2 at home & 3 away I reckon. They’ll want to make sure that us, Rangers & Cheltic play each other twice at home and twice away so they can look at being “balanced” Rolleyes

But as for who we get and when is anyone’s guess, although Sky & Premier Sports will want to have a say in it.

The other thing they’ll want to dodge is a potential title decider between two teams against each other on the final day as the cops will knock it back as they’ll not cope with the meltdown if either Rangers or Cheltic get pumped.

I just hope to fuck that we are still top with a decent cushion going into those last 5 games, as I genuinely don’t think my heart will take it if we’re only a point or 2 ahead and needing a win in Glasgow.

The flip side is if we were to go to Parkhead or Ibrox and that team was out of the race at that point and we needed a win to win the league over Celtic or Rangers, that would be very interesting.

2 points clear. Better goal difference than 2nd.

Last fixture. Easter Road. A point to win the league. Hibs nothing to play for. Except stopping us.

I honestly don't think I could take it.

But.

Imagine ANYONE that got a goal and won us the league at ER. 1,000 years of fame.
