Yeah, the Labour right's whole shtick since 2020 has been 'we're more interested in winning elections than winning the argument', so it misses the mark a bit to go on about the 'fewer votes' thing tbf - they played the system in the way they always said they were going to.
At the same time, they should be very concerned by how low the turnout/their share of the registered vote was. A few concessions from the Tories to Farage and it only needs some fairly small swings for them to lose it all again to a radicalised far-right Tory party in 2029. Especially now we've seen that well organised independent campaigns can run close or even beat Labour's big names.
