Aye. Just get out there with a few lessons. You could head up to Hillend a few times, or through to the snowdome at Braehead, or just get up north. Best thing would be to go away for a week with a few mates though.

Once you've had a few days you'll start picking it up quite quickly. With boarding you'll fall like fuck for the first 2 days but after that you'll start to crack it, skiing you'll not fall as much but you'll be shiter for longer.

Really fancy doing a couple of boarding holidays, they look amazing with plenty booze and French tarts.

Is it worth getting my own board rather than just renting so I can head out whenever and wherever sort of thing?

Having your own gear is a good idea, maybe not necessary for your first trip though.

I've never seen many photos of blokes snowboarding, they just go about it, but every single woman that I know* has a picture of themselves on the slopes. It's the sports equivalent of the "african child" photo.

5 days in Trysil, Norway in a couple of weeks.

I've not been skiing in years, seeing arseholes on Facebook out getting smashed on the slopes has me wanting to start up again though.

Will probably need some practice up at Hillend again but it's nowhere near as good as on snow.
