It's more the campaigning and this social media mob of '3rd wave feminists' and their shitty petitions. Still, I think there are lots of other necessities that are still taxed at the full VAT rate. Who shouldn't women have to pay for them?

Pretty much just what they said in that Facebook post - they are a necessity of life that only woman are forced to pay for. There isn't anything comparable for men.
Free tampons for everyone. Nationalise them

They're not necessities, just bleed all over yourself - it might be miserable but they should stop being so entitled and get on with it.

£100 food budget per month should cover them no problem.

Just looked online, you can buy 20 Tampax (big brand) tampons for £1.99 from Superdrug. If you want to buy in bulk and cheaper brands you'd probably pay less than that. Apparently you need 20 tampons for one period cycle, so that's like £1.99 a month if you're buying brand and you're doing it inefficently, meaning that the tax man is taking 10p or £1.20 off the average woman a year.
Let's double that and round up to be generous and include sanitary towels, that's £3 a year in VAT that women are charged on their necessity. Hardly going to brake the country by get rid of it, but the moral campaigning over this is ridiculous. Getting rid of the tax wouldn't reduce the cost of goods by a penny either.

Can point you to 2/3 times where I say I'm in favour or at the very least indifferent towards the exemption. It's the feminist nonsense and daft campaigning that I've taken issue with.
