Just got rid of my vw gti and looking to pick up the more economical gt tdi, tend to stick with VW's as I really like them, was offered a white scirroco last week looked great but decided against it as it had a high mileage and my mechanic had an R32 for sale but tbh it'd probably been Paul Walker'd
Morph is your mini a diesel? For the past week I've been driving my missus 1.6 diesel its dece but not for me
Mine's might just be over sensitive but even a slight incline in traffic kicks it in.
As you say makes no difference but that second or so for the stop start to kick in or hill start to stop piss me off every morning when am stuck in traffic.
Can't imagine it adds value - been standard (the hill start) on my past 3 cars.
But it only stops you going backwards, it doesn't hold the car when you try to drive forwards, it also only holds the car for about 2 seconds? I didn't even notice mine had it for about 3 weeks
Of course it adds value, every upgrade adds value.

Mines works on any incline - you can roll down a hill forward as well as back
And it's not an upgrade - you'll find very few cars without it now. Also upgrades add nominal value in some cases. How much value does a spare wheel upgrade add for example?

When the guy asked if I'd had any trouble with the car recently, my weedish response was something like "Well...I'm not an expert by any means...I think the wheel bearings are squeaking and in the past month a fan noise has started that wasn't there before."
My dad would be so ashamed.

Latin teacher and a handyman? Sounds like a mixture of Frasier Crane and Bear Grylls.

Always seen Walter as more of a smart car type guy, but driving it ironically.
Despite my pretension and love of irony, I also grew up in Fife. Had a scirocco 2.0 tsi, which was 210 bhp and fast as fuck, absolutely loved that car, but the s3 sportback gives me the pretence of being family friendly while also being a bit boy racer.
That's why I was laughing at Benoit saying his pal had to get rid of his as his mrs was pregnant. I'm selling the s3 to Mrs S as being 'family friendly' and safe 'as it has quattro.'
My cousin has an S3. Pretty nippy. I've had a few sub 6sec motors that you could probably regard as fast and a sub 5 sec car, don't see the point in owning them anymore tbh. I mainly just drive in slow moving traffic these days or built up areas. Much prefer the comfort of a German executive or a 4x4 these days.Â

That's it for me. If I'm not in that then I've got two kids to transport so a fast car would be out anyway.
I just like having an automatic that's fairly comfortable and that heats up / cools down quickly.

Moved on to the autos a couple of cars ago. Nothing against manuals but they're for the lower classes, changing my own gears is just too far beneath me now

£260 for a service. Hope that at least included a timing belt or something - if it's a basic service on a non bmw/merc/audi you've been robbed
