SG and Fife council are closing the most direct diversion route on the fife side to everything but buses and hgv's. clearly trying to force everyone onto buses/trains.

At the same time they are launching discounted buses (£3 return) and half hourly rail service to increase rail capacity by 40%

Free fruit to under 5's and cutting school weeks are just a bit too far though

I'm not saying that councils aren't and weren't unbelievably wasteful but they are cut to the bone. Raise the top couple of rates by couple hundred a year and there would be money to play with. It's shameful that we are cutting services needed by the people in society that need it the most and the snp have to share the blame of that as much as the tories and their austerity

It's the SNP way though - blanket policies for those who don't need them.

Of course they are popular but bridge tolls, prescription charges, childcare improvements, council tax were across the board and needed to be funded.

fact is those earning decent money could have continued to pay these.

I am quite happy not paying prescription charges but the only winner of my extra £100 a year from my inhalers is Willam Hill.

1:21 in the video (which has nothing graphic btw) is a message that'll become iconic I think.
Bombing oilfields have made us so much safer though, right? Right?

And yes your quite right - this is because we are bombing Syria now. They didn't try and kill people before.

If you shot everyone in the head who stabbed someone in London you'd be cleaning up bodies every day.

No - but here's the issue. People with links to Syria, terrorist or other, are mostly quite unhappy about the bombing campaign. The main danger to Western Europe is 'rogue cunts' acting largely alone or in small groups and not travelling to and from Syrian training camps. That's where a lot of the danger comes from, and was a substantial part of the Paris Attacks.

That's something the war mongerers desperate for some dead bodies don't seem to get - you don't need to invite 'foot soldiers' over to training camps, a lot of it can be done over the internet in many different countries. Bombing Syria into the dark ages isn't necessarily going to help stop that. Need to use our diplomatic powers to get States in that area to help.

Generally not into pointing this shit out, but it astounds me that you're in charge of folk's money and have such a poor grasp of the English language.

Correcting peoples spelling and grammar really is the behavior of an arsehole. You also do realise people may not spend the same time and skill posting on an informal internet forum as they do at work eh?

What skill is required in order to differentiate between 'should of' and 'should have' beside basic literacy?

Quite honestly grammar and English isn't something I'm overly bothered about. I tend to find most people are the same apart from extremely formal reports or documents in which case they are probably reviewed more than once.

An internet forum, a quick e-mail etc. I tend to not spend time reviewing.

Thankfully I tend to find most normal people don't sit and cry about an irrelevant typo or grammar error in an informal e-mail or discussion that in no way impacts  anyone or even stops people understanding what has been said.

I'd also add I find that this is the case for most people even senior CEO's, council bosses, government people etc. The only people who seem to get upset about it are English teachers.

He thinks we sit and triple check every post, because that's what he'd have to do, rather than have basic enough comprehension skills to not make the mistake in the first place.

They might not draw your attention to it, but they will almost certainly judge you on the fact that you are meant to be a 'professional' but don't have the basic grammar skills required to move from Primary School to High School Fart Smelly
