so Rey - apart from being has to be Luke's daughter, right? Or I suppose she could be Han & Leia's other kid. It's clear both Han & Leia knew her from their reactions when they first see her in the movie. Going by the last scene, though, and Luke's sabre calling to her I'm going to plump for her being Luke's daughter.

Thought the movie was superb.

There's no way that uber pilot boy would have left BB8 on Jukka though. Even after he crashed.

It's too neat if he's a skywalker bairn, although this movie is nothing if not neat and crowd pleasing. I'm going for a granddaughter of Obi-Wan because of the Guiness voiceovers in the flashback scene

true. She also has (and is allowed to keep) an English accent unlike Fin which could also hint at her being related to Obi-Wan

When Kylo Ren tries to read her mind, he says she's dreamed about going to the top of an island in the middle of the ocean. That's got to mean she's got a particular connection to Luke so is his daughter, no? Who's the mum though, Leia again?

Obi Wan's granddaughter would actually be quite a cool reveal, but don't remember any suggestion he'd ever had a kid so might be a bit awkward to shoehorn in.

Poor Han the one actor from the originals that had actually aged well, and they kill him off I liked the new characters they introduced, and left pretty damn happy. That's how you appeal to all ages without adding Frank Spencer gungan things

The film was great and the casting was absolutely perfect.

I was sitting through it cheesing the whole way,and I didn't even grow up with the films It just felt fucking quality. Was like an excited wee laddie when the millenium falcon turned up

The only issue I have with it is Kylo Ren and the fight scene at the end. Kylo Ren was fucking quality. He was a savage and the potential to be a right evil fucker. Then he took his mask off and you realise he is just an angsty wee teenager It's like he was almost in tears when he couldnt force Rey to unveil the map.

Then at the end, not only can Rey go toe to toe with him, Fin gives him a good going at as well. Rey didn't even believe in the force until 30 minutes ago and suddenly she's mastered mind control, the ability to grab things from across the way and fight (and pretty much defeat) a trained Sith apprentice. Fair enough Ren wasn't meant to be the finished article but cmon

Apart from that it was great and I can't work out if it's my second or third favourite film out of all of them. Probably the third. It's better than return of the jedi for sure.
