Didn't get all the intricacies in that rainmaker stuff though, I'll have to rewatch it I think to fully get the gist of it all.

The Drop - 8/10 - Gandolfini and Tom Hardy, winning combination

La la land - 9/10

Not a musical man by any stretch but that was fucking outstanding.

Just watched Siege of Jadotville - 7/10 - would have been higher if they weren't Irish soldiers.

The Lone Ranger - 7/10

This film got fucking slated, but it's not that bad. In fact, for large chunks it's a tremendous action film, especially the two train sequences. The dialogue is crap and there are some strands that are unnecessary (the cursed animals??) and, yeah, it's over long but far worse films have been given an easier ride. I watched it partially out of morbid curiosity, hoping it'd be so bad as to be funny, but it's got a lot going for it.

It's excellent. Watched it a few times; the kids love it.

A Time To Kill

Taped it a couple of weeks ago and finally got around to watching it. Great film, incredibly cast.

McConaughey's closing speech, in the court, is absolutely incredible.

The Wailing - South Korean horror - standard stuff.

Cell 3/10

Decent premise and really enjoyable opening but got pretty fucking ridiculous at points and the ending was awful.

Manchester by the sea - 8/10

Powerful, powerful film. Struggled not to greet If Casey Affleck doesn't win the Oscar I'll be surprised.

Be interested to see what you think. It definitely won't be for everyone but it is a fantastic story.

Gosling can't really sing   He learned how to play jazz on the piano from scratch for the film though. Unreal.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople. I absolutely loved this, very funny and quite uplifting but emotional. 8.5/10.
