Proper deep auburn can look pretty good. Pasty faced and irn bru up top not so much.

I went to a couple of barbers where they offered you a beer. Thought it was a nice modern approach. Getting offered a nose hair trim though...Rofl

It's a mix for me but mostly yes, there's a new barbers opened in Dunfermline November / December and they did a Sunday barbers in the owners other premises for 6/7 months before that.

It's a bit more expensive than your usual places but they take their time (30-45 minutes) and it looks better than the 5-10 minute jobs you get in some other places

They also offer beer

Wouldn't let them near my barnet. Same barber has cut my hair since I was 12, been offered beer since I was 18. Takes at least 30 minutes, usually the full 45. Under £20.

I have been going to boombarbers for about 3-4 years now and in that time about 25% of the hairdressers are female. You can try and book a specific barber there but they all do a pretty good job so i don't bother Warnock

Do you actually object to a woman cutting your hair?

Which one do you go to? I used to go to the one at Queensferry st. The lassie in there is shit, as are most of the guys. I used to do the barber roulette as well, until I found the one I preferred then I'd sit and wait for him. He pissed off and opened his own shop a few years ago so I just go there now.

Yeah, I object to a woman cutting my hair. Had to do it a few times in Aberdeen and always regretted it.

I might be going senile, but wasn't there a barbers at Haymarket years back, that introduced topless bursds to cut your hair ?

I'm sure I remember it causing a huge ruckus at the time.

Edit - I don't mean that Glam place either.

I never got a good haircut in Aberdeen, despite living there for 6 years. Dire.

Go to a place in Glasgow that's pricey but you get a top cut. Trim booked in next week, looking forward to it.

Where about do you go?

Rebel and Brother seem the best in Glasgow that I've experienced.

Free bevvy in Rebel as well.

I struggled in Aberdeen as well. Eventually settled for the one on Union Terrace. Allen Brandie was the guy, his claim to fame being that he was on a series of Shipwrecked.

Aye I think it was Easter Road.

This clown at 'the barber's pole' at Spittal actually shaved off a large mole on my mate's neck.

It was absolute scenes. The cretin was trying to stem the bleeding with tissues and throwing barbicide around the place and dabbing it on my mate's open wound. Laugh

Serves him right for going there tbh.

I had to bite the bullet and hit the only place open on a sunday in Edinburgh once. The turkish place at elm row. It was an old boy, I gave him all my patter that I'd give to my barber. He nodded along then just gave me a short back and sides. Finished it off by slapping gel on it, flattening the top with the back end of a brush, then flicking the front like it was 2001.

Never again.

My bottom just clenched at that - having done the same to one on my neck years ago whilst shaving, I actually thought I was going to die due to blood loss...
