Are we ever going to have a proper debate about FPTP in this country?

Not as long as the Tories are in power. Would force them in to another coalition probably. Double edged sword as parties like Ukip can come along and hoover up 100 seats  Monty LewLew

That said, I still think everybody should be represented more fairly and there would be a better balance in the commons.

I think Ed Milliband is the best person to lead our country. There is something statesmanlike of surviving a gruelling election campaign. He's also got a track record of sticking it to Murdoch, the banks and showing strength on big foreign policy decisions.

Really like him, but he still has no gravitas. I think the best person to lead the UK is either Keir Starmer or Dan Jarvis.

Its absolutely unfair that UKIP got so many million votes and 1 MP to show for it. The SNP got about the same and got 50+. Not sure of the exact figures, I cany mind, but mind it being mentioned on here at the time. Even though I vote SNP and hate UKIP and Brexit; thats still unfair. No wonder Leave won when things like that can happen. Millions felt ignored or failed

Absolutely agree that was a huge factor in brexit. Millions' votes are meaningless. It allowed that outsider narrative for UKIP.

And what happens if the tories get 3% more of the vote, and a majority of 100?

That's your problem. You could never have a john Major or Angela Merkel, you need a tony blair or Barack Obama. Basically you are a follower and crave that cosy feeling of security that these personalities give.

It's all pointless when the boring truth is that what is really equired is a good man/woman that cannot be perverted by power and is a talented administrator.

Hekens

He was scuppered because his public perception at the time wasn't any good during his run as opposition leader and the 2015 election.  For example people got hung up on him because he made a face whilst eating a bacon roll.

Unfortunately people are retards and wee things like that go a long way in todays modern politics.

Sturgeon must be scared of a Labour victory, see she's started pushing the coalition patter again.

1. No you don't, and neither of Jarvis or Starmer are. Jarvis, if anything, is slightly wooden.

2. Can you even remember John Major? How old were you when he, who took to the Tories to their worst defeat since 1832, was PM?

3. Ed Miliband, of course, was Labour leader during the indyref, and when they were wiped out in Scotland. I was more enthused by the 2015 Labour manifesto than any party's manifesto since 1992; I passionately supported Labour and voted Labour.

Who did you vote for in 2015?
