If we haven't killed them in the course of "normal" warfare, yes - why not? If you want to assassinate/summarily execute those you deem terrorists, why would you not assassinate/summarily execute murderers/paedophiles/ housebreakers/drug addicts?

Of course, it's not just that. Targeted assassinations frequently kill innocent bystanders. This is scarcely ever reported in the Western media - but it's disgusting, indefensible, and recruits more terrorists.

Of course, this is far from an ideal world. But wherever possible, it's so so much better to capture terrorists alive and give them the due process which separates us (or is supposed to) from lawless states. Capturing them alive also gives us the opportunity to obtain valuable information from them.

The problem with Williamson's comments is he leaves it open to interpretation that we execute them even if we have them in custody. That is not how we are supposed to conduct ourselves. Otherwise you are one step away from making impressively high quality content of beheadings and shit and broadcasting them on the internet.
