Comparing him to Craig Levein in any respect, any respect at all is utterly ridiculous. I don't think there has been any "abuse" of anyone who is frustrated about results or the fact that (so far) we've not got off the bottom of the league but there is definitely a frustration at how quickly people are jumping on and off the Stendel bus giving no leeway whatsoever to the state of the footballing side of the club. 

Unlike the Levein situation which was never going to get better there was no chance those of us who had nailed ourselves to the GTF mast would be left eating humble pie. It is far far too early to be setting yourself up in that manner with Stendel so it's going to be interesting to see the reactions when he keeps us up from those who have clearly lost the plot in recent days.

He deserves a full season. Even if we get relegated imo.

My staunch backing of him is because I want to see something different at Hearts, an opportunity to fulfill some of our potential as a club. We continue to underachieving year after year and my suspicion is we would revert to the status quo and some insular and boring appointment. 

For what its worth I doubt he will be with us for the 2020-21 season if we are in the Championship. Just as well I remain convinced he'll get us out of this embarrassing mess.

Short version of my position:

I've been patient with him. He's doing shite. He should take a portion of the blame but the true problem is Budge and Levein. I think they are undermining him to a significant extent which is making his relationship with the players complicated. If we give him time there is a decent chance he will come good. Unfortunately we don't have time in our current situation. He's probably good enough to get us out of the championship even if we get relegated.
