Not sure how the US are reporting it at the moment, but read that they'll be doing similar to get the total number. Essentially they're predicting 3m deaths from coronavirus which will have a lot of overlap with the 3m deaths they'd anticipate of elderly/vulnerable people each year*, so the 'true' coronavirus death toll will be the number above that usual 3m of at risk groups, plus all the coronavirus deaths outside of those groups.

*It might not be a year, can't remember what the exact timeframes were.

I think that one thing that'd be guaranteed under Corbyn would be that human lives would be treated as more valuable than the market. You're probably right that, when it came down to the details and logistics, there's no guarantee that a Corbyn-led Labour government would've dealt with this well - but what we've had over the past few weeks has been a protect the market at all costs mentality at a time when the fact that the virus hit other countries before us should've given us a genuine chance to limit the spread, based on the fact that we already knew what was coming. Labour absolutely wouldn't have put the market first.

Italy's numbers are also lies apparently. Something to do with the way they report their deaths. If you're in hospital and die at the moment they're just putting it down to Coronavirus.

My mum works as a shelf stacker and have only had their first meeting acknowledging the situation in the past couple days. Up until then no mention at all about it, nothing about the extra work needing done, what to do if you're sick yourself etc. Understand they're busy but you still need to protect them like anyone else.

Imagine there is a lot of truth to this but even if 4 or 5 people in a day take it too far and wipe a shelf it's going to cause problems for others too. Think it's somewhere in the middle between what he's saying and everyone is hoarding as if they're about to wake up to a nuclear wasteland tomorrow.

Was reading that apparently this situation could've been a lot worse as the shops had already put some contingencies in for a no deal brexit, so they had increased the stock available slightly already.
