Serious question.

How many goals do you think Boyd would score for Hearts next season if you had him in for pre-season between June and August under the Levein/Neilson regime.

Personally, i've never liked his style of play, even when he's been at his fittest, but no doubt he knows where the goal is. A few people are already saying it's a NAP he will go back to Kilmarnock and pop between 10-15 goals in.

Would it be worth a risk getting him in as our "Zeefuik" this season? i.e. an initial back up/squad rotation player who if gets run a games could end up banging them in?

I thought it was a preposterous idea when first mooted...but maybe he's worth a risk. When he's on Sportsound and that he sounds like a really nice guy - he just gets the "Davie Weir syndrome" - he turns into a cretin when he's wearing a Rangers shirt.

Not for me. What's he now 32/33? I think Kilmarnock got the last good season out of him and not the kind of player we should be looking at imo.

He`s finished, career longevity was never going to be on the cards for Boyd.

I suspect he`ll get a couple more contracts on reputation alone though.

The Huns certainly didn't play to his strengths by smashing balls at his face all season but he doesn't look like there's much left in the tank.

No ta.

Not a completely ridiculous suggestion.

Doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who'd be up for that (initial) arrangement, though.

Not sure what happened to him at Rangers because he looked competent last season. Whoever gets him next year will certainly get goals, wouldn't be shocked to see him back at Killie.

If a team can get him in shape, he'll get at least 10.

He piled on about 2 stone during the Mccoist farce and that was it for him at rangers.

We should be looking elsewhere but I'd imagine most of the bottom 6 will be after him.

Fair point. Was expecting at least one bit of seethe. Scotty was too busy sticking up for the huns though. Sob
