I was thinking the same today; why are we going all Keltic & foreign jobbers? Thought that was partly the reason Scotland got shite at national level. Is there really fuck-all around our own leagues worth developing!

The reason we were shite at international level was a succession of shite managers combined with the perfect storm of clubs wasting cash on overpriced dud foreign imports at the expense of looking closer to home.

The fact we're now looking at markets closer to home, is a good thing as far as I'm concerned. We need better players coming through the academy system in order to improve the national team, we're very guilty of bringing through players who just aren't good enough for football at the top level, but get overhyped and then crash and burn and fall down the leagues or out the game completely.

There is no magic wand solution sadly, but as always, if it was a straight choice between a successful Hearts team and a successful Scotland team, I'd choose Hearts every time.
