I paid £40 for when I had a 2 bed flat.

I saved quite a bit switching to one of the smaller companies (Ovo) - only paying £60 odd for gas and electric in a 4 bed house.

Ovo
![]() Reminds me of the time British Gas took 3 grand out my current account without warning and claimed I had switched to Ovo (who I hadn't even heard of at the time). It was nothing short of a living hell to get it sorted - and they were still sending me bills for random amounts 6 months after they promised me it was sorted In the end the 3 grand bill they assured me I was due to pay because "flats don't all use the same rates of energy" turned into an 80 quid rebate ![]() Got a cracker of an email from them where they explained the catastrophic fuck up they'd made, then immediately added a caveat of "we didn't make a mistake". 3 grand erroneously out my account and they hadn't made a mistake in their eyes

Not at all
I'd like to point out there was not anywhere near 3 grand in my current account and I had to make furious calls to RBS to get the direct debit recalled

I take that back then. I took it as "look at me with 3k in my current account".

Nah
I should have made it clearer that it left me hideously overdrawn

I've got an all electric flat 1 bedroom. Electricity is normally £30 outwith winter when not using heating. Jumps up to circa £50-60 in winter depending how cold/often heating is on paying them £41 a month and balances out. On some stupid 3 tier tariff as storage heaters.
On a separate note there is an ice cream van outside. Is that guy on a wind up, it's cold wet and shite outside.

Scottish power tried to steal money off me last month so I left them and went to British Gas. The emailed me today saying they would put a default on my credit file, can they do that? It's only £400 but I don't want to pay it out of principle.
Short version- last month, duel fuel bill was £60 in credit, then this month, as it was the end of my fixed price deal, they put a £400 acc adjustment on Now, I'd been paying £120 p/m, I asked if I was to go with them again, how much would it be? They said based on last year's usage, £80 per month guy on the phone couldn't answer where the £400 adjustment came from other than mumbling about that's what my usage had been. At the very least, legally do they not have to put you on the cheapest plan when you ask for it? (Which I have done twice in the last 12mths). Whole this just seems like a total scam because my fixed price deal was ending and I would be looking else where,
