I thought he was a bit of a headless chicken in past years but he's improved his all round play so much, this season. Maybe just playing for a proper manager gets the best out of him, tbf.

He’s been brilliant since the moment he signed, every season he’s got a bit better. Today was almost the complete performance for the type of midfielder he is.

Mcinness played the same position as Devlin and their relationship has really brought out the best in them. Black was more creative but the increase of levels due to the manager/player relationship is excellent.

Devlin is going to have quite a few suitors when he inevitably leaves us on a free.

What he does, he does very well, but he's not exactly a man of all trades. 
He'll need more strings to his bow if he's to move anywhere better than Tynecastle.

It’s also not really how modern fitba works either. It’s all built around rigid systems where plers have very specific roles.

You’re not going to put him in a team where he’s expected to get forward or spray 40 yard passes, or given total freedom to do whatever he wants but an aggressive pressing team who needs a ball winner in the middle of the perk who has an engine to go 120 mins and get the baw out to your creative men he’s your man.

Based only on this season he could play at a higher level than the spfl imo but I really hope he stays. He could go play English championship no bother.
