Not covering himself in glory recently, is he?

What a call that Kabore sub was
![]() Del’s the only reason we were in the title race in the first place, maybe it’ll be a couple more moments like that that keep us in it.

I thought he had us set up very well today, leaving the Motherwell goalie on the ball, good communication around the team and Motherwell were having to launch it alot. They knocked the ball around us first 10 mins and we adapted our set up/press accordingly and by half time we were the better team.
Motherwell are a class outfit and we just beat them 3-1. This was one of Del's best managerial performances, imo. He shouldn't have changed to a 442 and we almost got fucked for 10 mins with Motherwell missing a bunch of one on ones, but he switched it back and got the win. Fair play, Del. One caveat, seeing Motherwell live though, it does make your mouth water what this Askou fella would do at Hearts with JTA backing.

I think he was thinking back to the 3-3 game where we want for it and forced them back, the move to the back 3 swung it as we hardly looked troubled after that

It was a good result but let’s be honest could’ve been 3/4-1 the other way.
I thought both teams played fairly well tbh but we really need to sort out the defence. Halkett and McEntee were so far off it today. We controlled large parts of the game but were cut open way too easily and some of the chances they missed were criminal. Still don’t think we are carving enough good chances out for ourselves over the course of 90 but as long as we keep taking them when they come along happy days. Subs were good not sure I agree that we were set up brilliantly from the start though.

The Motherwell players were looking to their bench for a plan B midway through the 2nd half. I think some of their fake head knocks was for their manager to get new instructions on the pitch during the break in play. We had them figured out for quite a bit there after a difficult first 5-10 mins.

Seen Davie Martindale teams restart the game with more urgency.

Not sure if they do that every game, but they've came to Tynecastle with that in mind. Maybe to get a nervy fanbase riled, but there was some dark arts going on the day.

I’m wary about wanting any rules changed because every time they do that they fuck it up but the fake head knock to stop play and get a wee tactical time out is a gaping hole in the rules. Something needs done about that over summer.

It's a good tactic. Most of our lost points at home have come that way.

Folk were losing their mind about us sitting in position and letting the keeper make an arse of it rather than just running about daft and letting them pass through us
scary the IQ oft eh crowd at times. Del had it sussed yesterday and made them look pretty ordinary.

How can anyone say that’s no a penalty, Welsh just boots him in the noggin

Was refreshing to see their keeper shank it out or panic rather than allowing him to look like a sweeper keeper.
