Sounds like we'll have plenty of new faces in the squad, which is good. McLaughlin will be there by all accounts.

How is he any different from “jobs for the boys
Scotland has been criticised for being footballing dinosaurs for ages. Surely that comes with the people managers are surrounding themselves with too? If the national team is meant to be made up of the best the country has to offer, I dunno what some boy who took up some coaching responsibilities while he played at Motherwell is doing there. I'm not annoyed at McFadden specifically, I just hate the whole thing of ex players walking into jobs like that or managers jobs because they were players. Look at Locke or Robbo for us. Not actually given the job because they were any good at it, but purely because they used to be players. I suppose Locke isn't the best example as someone had to do it but still. Not saying players can't go on to do well in those positions but itd be good if they could prove themselves before taking bigger jobs.

McFadden is a Scottish hero. In a time where even the players don't give a f about international football, it's good to have someone who cares.
It's important to have experience, but you also need the right characters. McLeish is a pathetic choice, but I really like McFadden as part of the backroom team.

Don't see the issue, McFadden will have played under McLeish at Motherwell and for Scotland, Grant has worked with him before at Birmingham and Villa and Woods played for him at Motherwell. Not as if they're just chucking in randoms to appease folk

Fairly happy with the coaching team. Strachan had Mark Magoo ffs.

Signs are that this will an English Championship heavy team.
More snubs for SPFL players. How many people will be in the squad?
