The Imitation Game - 4/10

Sets, costumes and a few performances aside it was not much better than an ITV original drama. Hum-drum would be a kind description. 3 of the 4 in my marks come for the Cumberbatch performance, the lighting and the dressing - the other 1 was for reminding me of Dougray Scott's Enigma movie, and subsequently his dejected pus after the cup final.

Laugh

I was going to be even more oblique and use LA Takedown instead of Heat, but figured that was a step too far...

The Duff Wiggo

6/10. Pretty standard "US High School outcast" film, which is still pretty watchable. Ken Jeong steals the show a couple of times.

The last one is the best of the three by a mile. Still boring as fuck, right enough Warnock

Been a good weekend for films:

Guardians of the Galaxy - 7 - great fun, silly and irreverent as it should be. The boy from Parks and Rec is brilliant as a slightly sardonic leading man.

Croupier - 8 - Classic Mike Hodges crime drama with Clive Owen as a writer turned croupier who gets involved in a heist. Not seen it for years and it has aged well. Very atmospheric.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - 9 - Don't give a shit that Willie and Short Round are as annoying as feck, it's a great, great film - a personal favourite.

Weekend before pay day so got a few films in,

Grand Budapest Hotel - 6/10 - was pretty funny but lost the story a couple of times. Ralph Fiennes was great in it though.

Hunger Games Mockingjay part 1 - 7/10 - decent enough, not the same without teenagers killing each other for sport though.

Guardians of the Galaxy - 8/10 - probably my favourite Marvel film for a while, mainly because there was a lot of comedy in it rather than the actual story.

Not much of a spoiler but

Billy connoly turns up in the second one and it's fucking ridiculous. He plays an over exaggerated character of himself (if that's possible) a fucking braveheart dwarf riding a pig. Laugh

Edge of Tomorrow 4/10

Typical Tom Cruise fare which I really enjoyed but marking it well down for the fucking atrocious ending. Was genuinely fucking raging.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 6/10

Andrew Garfield pisses all over Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man/Peter Parker but the storyline wasn't as good as what's come before. Liked the ending though but noticed there's nothing on IMDB about any further sequels just when it looks like it could be getting good.

Mortdecai - 7/10

decent comedy which was a cross between A Fish Called Wanda and Grand Budapest Hotel,
Johnny Depp, Ewan McGregor and Gwyneth Paltrow all brilliant and all that was missing was a John Cleese cameo!
