Had to update my identity information for eBay so i had ordered a new passport. Had to be done by last night or i'd be suspended. I was trying to get an extension until my passport arrived but after 20 minutes trying to explain this to their stupid seller support they then informed me i had been put through to the wrong department and that they were putting me through to the correct one now. Last thing i shouted was Jesus Christ!

There's something no right about that Darren McGarvey dude.

I can't quite put my finger on it, he seems to stroke his own ego by kidding on he's mr humble and he flashes his knickers at the London cultural elites while succesfully pulling off the 'salt of the earth' thing.

Have heard a couple of ropey stories about McGarvey, one from 2na IIRC?

His book is quite good, but you do get the feeling he's something of a grifter. Can't decide how to feel about that - the nature of the mass media is such that there are plenty of reactionary grifters, and there do need to be people there to argue against them, but something about it feels very wrong.

Got myself a camera yesterday, an upgrade on my Sony RX100Mk3; got the mk5, decent like but not with all the unnecessary bells & whistles the latest Mk7 has. No cheap mind, but not the silly money they wanted for their latest!

Well, I go to take the battery out the old one, which was on the blink - you could see an image on the screen but it was dark and pixelated but thought I'd fire it up one last time and lo & behold, right as rain!

I was reading an article on a movie that is being made about life in Muirhouse and the director was saying that people like McGarvey are in and out - get their filming done and then are never seen again. I can certainly imagine that being the case.
