It was a genuine question. The abuse received in return is disappointing.

Given that I have already stated, on more than one occasion, that I no longer attend church and that I am now an atheist I think the idea that a question asking if I am afraid to leave a "cult" is, frankly, no more genuine than Amanda Holden. I have also, on two occasions, explained that my decision not to attend matches on a Sunday is down to my commitment to having one day a week that is given over to my family and out of respect for my dads faith (I attend all matches with him). So...I would contend that I have more reason to be disappointed with you for your inability/stubborn refusal to understand/read what I have written than you do by my rather clever play on words. Scott has seemed a bit upset again recently. It's a shame, as he is a good guy underneath it all.

Was approached by a couple of Mormon recruiters in the street recently actually.
Had completely forgotten that stuff they believe.

The LDS position is that Christ visited the Americas (not necessarily the USA) after his crucifixion (as a resurrected man) and established his Church on that continent as he had in Jerusalem. I don't really want to get into Mormon doctrine here so I am now going to duck out of this one. Mozzer

I realise mormon culture is part of your identity but I think the start of the new season would be a good time to let it go. No reason why you can't now make the Saturday for your self improvement day that week, free yourself from the religious dogma of it "must be Sunday".

Never met a Mormon I didn't like. There's a church near my house and they're often at my bus stop off to do their door to door in another central belt town where aspiration isn't welcome. Always positive and friendly and humble. None ever seem mental about their faith either - even if the faith itself is clearly mental - and just took it as a part of their identity and culture. I've met far more annoying theists from traditional faiths who never seem to have an eyebrow raised at their choices.
I don't know about the church itself, but I like Mormons and appreciate that the culture is pervasive and not necessarily negative either. I like football on a Sunday too, mind, so reluctantly am joining the 'mozzer = camp'.Soz, Moz.
