It was at its absolute best in the "Rise of the nutters" specials.

Finally watched season 2 of narcos this last week. Wish I hadn't as it was very poor all told. These sorts of stories generally get worse once it's downhill for the main character, but you're atleast invested. With this it's only escobar who you can give a fuck about. Beyond that you really start to notice how ropey several of the actors are; clearly some daytime spanish language soap opera actors.

I guess they blew their load with story in the first season.

Watched the first episode of the Amazon remake of Mad Dogs, set in Belize with a decent enough American cast. Pretty poor to be honest, don't think episode 2 will get an airing in the Sarkozy household.
