Yeah, looks quite good. Haven’t started watching it yet, but it’s on the list.

The films amazing, not sure I want to spoil it with the show but it’s a good cast.

Don't know in all honesty but I'm about 40mins off finishing the series; binge watched it since last night (hate myself for wasting today so far) but it's excellent. Well worth watching. B& W looks great tourism ad for Italy. (04-19-2024, 11:59 AM)Zizou Wrote: The films amazing, not sure I want to spoil it with the show but it’s a good cast. Just watched the 1999 film and I must say I much preferred the Netflix series. Give it a shot. Of course you know roughly how it pans out but the series has way more to it (as you'd expect). and frankly looks tip top. There's a link to Caravaggio, which is interesting. This article was in the Guardian a few days back so it piqued my interest even more during the series. Worth looking a bit more into his works and story before watching Ripley. Well you dont have to but it may or may not enhance your enjoyment. https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign...ld-the-key

Just reading an interview on the BBC with that woman who played Martha in Baby Reindeer - utterly shocked she's not Scottish and from West Yorkshire - her accent was spot on for someone from Edinburgh

So, she's not the Marta, but is the Martha, she didn't stalk him, but does know in depth personal info about him.
Jings - Twitter is going to be the catalyst for pushing her over the edge.

Everything else is essentially a carbon copy of her, folk have even got her voice notes and the actress sounds identical, she even lives/lived in Camden. Doesn’t sound like somebody who’s concerned for someone’s welfare like he made out when selling the show. Sint from ipheon

Don't intend to watch this show but it's sounds thoroughly depressing and like it will end in a real life suicide.

I'm really struggling to enjoy it, thought it was going to be brilliant the way people were going on but I'm 4 deep and I honestly can't be arsed getting to the end.

He does paint her in a very sympathetic light in the show when she’s clearly a nasty piece of work and made a lot of people’s life a misery, but aye he’s not exactly made it hard to find her.
Almost deliberate

I can't shake the feeling that he's a fucking wank, an attention seeking wank at that.

The Netflix series is just a continuation of the story, he didn’t exactly paint himself in a good light and he’s clearly still got the same motivations from years ago as he did in the show. Motivated by wanting to be seen and be showered with praise and recognition etc
He’s probably painted Martha pretty realistically in that she is a piece of work but still very mentally ill and needs help more than anything else. He’s pretended he’s looked to protect her but he’s thrown her to the wolves for the Netflix coin. Fair enough but don’t pretend you’ve done all this stuff to look out for her
