Was a great experience in the cinema. As Comedian says, beautifully shot.

Think it's one of those films like the godfather or terminator where people will be debating which is better in 10 years time

I'm not sure it is at the same level or even especially close, but since the Director's Cut is the Best Film Ever Made that's not a criticism. It's got a lot to think about in it but not quite the same depth. Will need to give it a few viewings to see if it holds up.

Performances, cinematography, music, story though Pinilla

Took the bairn, she took a dump after an hour and fifteen minutes, went to change her and she refused to go back in.

Went to see Yesterday, a great idea for a film that was poorly executed and leaned on cameos from Ed Sheeran way too much.

A couple of folk walked out around 45 mins into the film

I'll probably break and watch it in three years time and seethe like fuck at it.

There's a good episode of Adam Buxton's podcast where he's speaking to the director Garth Jennings about getting music to put in movies. He directed sing so had to source loads of different songs. He talks about going to see David Furnish to get the rights to Elton John's stuff, and how they were really keen for it to be used in movies but only where it'd be good for the movie and Elton's image. He then brought up the beatles and how they're so underused in movies and they discussed how it must be difficult for young people nowadays to stumble across the beatles. Kids don't listen to the radio nowadays, so how do they get to know them? I can only think of Baby, You're a Rich Man being used at the end of the The Social Network. So they're really in danger of becoming a museum exhibit rather than an active piece of culture.

I guess they got their fingers burned when they released that Beatles guitar hero thing and it tanked. Looks like this movie is going pretty much the same way.

They're barely played on the radio either, well the stations I listen to anyway. Did the Beatles have any hits in the 80s? Monty Umm
