Not sure if that was down to the proxies themselves, but I had the same outcome from a few before eventually giving up. I know that you can be detected as on a proxy with most basic anonymous proxies, so I presume that may have been my issue.

I'm not taking lectures on being with it off a 48 year old man who thinks Mumford and Sons is a TV show Laugh

Struggle to see what I've said that is wrong there, though?

The Black Dahlia - So much about this i should love. Soundtrack, gruesome murders, noir setting, classic hollywood, but it's just a poor movie.

Utter shit. That's one of the biggest disappointments ever - great cast, great director, interesting story and a period of history with rich aesthetics. Everything was in place, and they fudged it massively. Shame. Could have been a spiritual sequel to LA Confidential.

It was the LA Noire of movies Laugh

fuck me. i forgot about LA Noire.

The game where whatever you do, it doesn't matter. Get to the place on time? Great, you interview someone and get the clue. Don't get there on time? Great, interview them anyway. Interview went well? Great score some shit out in your book. Interview didn't go well? See previous.

But, but, but their faces move.

Fuck up an interrogation? No bother, you'll get a phone call to tell you who did it.

Stuck on a bit? Press X to skip it Warnock

Absolute torture.

And then it changes the lead character half way through for no apparent reason Laugh

I thought that's pretty much what all single player story based games are like? You pretty much can't lose. It's just watching a film you have to manually move along.

If you don't complete the mission then you repeat the mission. Still can't complete it? Tough, you're stuck on that mission for ever.

You know what, i'll leave it to Dara

There is literally no way to fuck up LA Noire.

I find it hard to believe that in this day and age that anyone is releasing a £60 game that can't be beat. There's just no way that you're getting "stuck" on a mission that you can't complete and just jacking it in.

Oh, Rog. Nobody said a game couldn't be beat. The games industry isn't firing out a pixelated Fermat's Last Theorem. Some people do give up games because they get stuck though.

Stop looking for squabbles; mak is busy getting his gite just how he likes it. Once he's done that you can bicker to your heart's content with him.

Sorry 2na, my intention was not to upset you.

Anyway, watched The Babadook the other night. Not normally my cup of tea but trying to get myself into watching 'horror' type films. It was a slow burner, not that scary, but it was an incredibly well shot and stylised film. Looked sharp as fuck on my new bedroom telly. 7/10.

They offer easily achievable missions that offer short term gratification and approval.

Up the difficulty from Noob on your Lego Star Wars game then, my friend Cool

Get what you're saying, but the point is the illusion of achievement that exists in most games, which is totally absent in LA Noire. You get to a certain task which requires skills you've learned in the game, you complete it successfully and you're rewarded with the next part of the story. In LA Noire, the tasks are literally infallible - if the task is to successfully interrogate a witness, you either succeed and the game moves on, or you fail, at which point the game intervenes to hand you the exact progression you'd have got if you succeeded. If the task is to chase a suspect, the game doesn't let you catch them until the very moment it wants you to. If you fail? It lets you try twice and then says "press x to skip this section", so you succeed even if you fail. There's no consequences for failing and the game progresses in an identical fashion regardless. I ended up just mashing buttons during the interrogations because there was literally no point in doing it properly. I hadn't cracked a single witness or solved a case and got promoted for my great police work Laugh

Tl;dr - it's shite, shut up Rog Cool

Sounds absolutely terrible. Why did you persevere beyond half an hour of playing?
