Am half-way through 'Kajaki' after seeing that a boy who used to work in my building won the best actor at the scottish baftas recently.

Anyway, it's a great picture. Tells the story of a platoon in afghanistan that come down off their base and are stuck in a minefield and get blown the fuck up repeatedly. It's very unpleasant and pretty affecting. I'm not sure if i'll even finish it tonight as it's a hard watch, and there's 49mins to go and things aren't going well for them at all.

once again, it's on netflix, so you should all go watch it.

No Escape - surprisingly good thriller with Owen Wilson and Pierce Brosnan - almost let this one go without watching, but glad I did.

8/10

Just started watching that Kajaki.

I can't hear fuck all, because the dialogue volume is so low and when i turn it up the rest of the volume is fucking ridiculously loud (like a car moving etc)

The acting is terrible so far as well (15 minutes in) Are you sure this film is decent?

Right I take it back.

It's just went from 0 to 100 in about 5 minutes. I'm nervous as fuck watching this man.

+1 for Kajaki. Superb film.

Finally got around to seeing Spectre last night. Not sure what to make of it. Starts well but then goes off the boil a bit.

A good amount of watch porn in there for those interested. But him wearing the 300 on a NATO strap whilst dressed for dinner (train scene) is just not something Bond would do. Even a young edgy Bond like Craig's character is meant to to be. Odd.

It isn't really explained why the baddies want what they're after either. Sure we know what it is and how they got it but what was the end game for them once they had it? Presumably it's just to make pots of cash but that's all a bit meh in terms of Bond villandery.

Still - good entertainment and being Bond gets it extra points so 7/10

I'm almost certain that you post that you've watched Munich once every two months, VS Laugh

Watched Birdman last night, don't know how I managed to miss it at the time. Absolutely incredible IMO GodIsGod

Watched Inside Out last night, wasn't as good as it was hyped up to be but still enjoyable. Solid 7/10

Got Birdman ready to watch over the next couple of days as well.

Hunger Games - The early ones were better as there was atleast some action and tension. The later ones involve a revolution against a totalitarian regime, but focused entirely on a lassie who everyone loves for no good reason who spends her time getting the perfect dress and doing vlogs to help win the war. It's basically if the did a later terminator movie but made it for tweens.

The latest one felt like all the characters had run their course and had nothing left to do except get from A to B. It only had one action sequence so it had to rely on the political intrigue which fell apart because philip seymour hoffman was dead, meaning they had to drop him in the background of scenes looking machiavellian or have woody harrelson deliver notes from him.

In summary, my wife read the books and i couldn't be fucked going to motherwell

Bridge of spies - 9/10

Hanks, Spielberg, coen bros and the Cold War ... Was never going to be anything else than utterly brilliant.

Mark rylance is phenomenal in it.
