Just finished watching Liar Liar. I loved it, but i loved it when I was 8.

A couple of thoughts, watching it as an adult - the guy who players Gerry (magoo) is brilliant. He's such an earnest, eager, goon. I've only seen him in hot shots and men in tights, i wonder why he wasn't in more stuff? Also, they'd have done well to make it a xmas movie; i know it came out at that height of carrey's earning potential and it made a shitload that summer but it could've been a perennial christmas favourite with a couple of very minor tweeks. In reality it's a Capra, feel good film as seen through the prism of carrey's over-acting.

Rogue One 9/10

Great film, perfect mix of action sprinkled with comedy and a touch of feels

As I said to Benoit at the end watching this you can't help thinking how the prequel trilogy could have turned out in these hands as opposed to fucking George Lucas

Focus 6/10
Well certainly based on the bit I saw; passed out a little after the #55 gambling bit at the Superbowl.

Mean Streets 8/10
Haven't seen it in a long time and with a sound system on the telly now (cast off from the in-laws for Xmas) came across as even better than I remember it.

Batman vs SupermanBig Grinawn of (something) 7/10
Better than I expected, as I generally don't like explosions and shite.

Still got a Thin Red Line to watch, although iirc I didn't particularly care for it when it came out 20-odd yrs ago. Also the Producers; again it's been a long time.

Super Duper Alice Cooper 7/10
Very enjoyable documentary that cleverly interlaces real footage and animation in an opera-like stylie.

Stanhope recommended this on his podcast, and it's actually pretty funny.

For twenty years these two guys have been winding their friend up something rotten, and here they convince him he's won the lead in a film and wind him up some more during the "shoot". The guy's beyond stupid, so it's probably not fake but it does verge on abuse. He seems happy enough.

Directed by bobcat goldthwaite, and most stuff he does is really good.

Kubo and the two strings - 8/10

Very enjoyable animated film, really liked it and some quirky humour

Nice change to some of the other animated shite I've had to endure the last few days
