Watched Chef over the weekend. It's not Dunkirk so who really gives a shit, right, but it's great.

I critiqued chef on here before, I still can't work out how it was so brilliant, such a nothing story and topic
Stellar cast I suppose.

It's like all of Jon Favreau's movies (written by him I mean), in that basically nothing happens, but the characters are just so much fun to be around you don't care

Yeah, I really like JF's movies/performances in the main.

Is Chef the one where he goes on the road with the food van?
Love that film.

Yeah. Soundtrack is superb as well. I already had this from some kind of compilation (possibly a Fabriclive album), but still got a bit excited when it came on in the van:

Baby Driver, 5.5-6/10
Decent soundtrack, and few wry smile moments but generally, they drew it out waaay too much and and blew the end with an OTT dumb-ed down all action ending. sigh!

Dunkirk was fucking brilliant.

The Skin I Live In is on iplayer and it's great. Really inventive thriller with tinges of horror. Antonio Banderas is a plastic surgeon who has a young woman captive and is performing a series of operations on her as some sort of vengeance, and the reason for it unfolds. It's very much a modern hitchcock.
Am currently half way through the recent conan the barbarian movie. It's pish

I've seen that top one 2na, pretty good. More twists than a twisty thing.

saw 'the skin I live in' 2na I'm sure I recommended it on the foreign movie thread(was that on here or over there?)
it's a great film, as VS said plenty twists and the end was a classic "didn't see that coming" moment. Tend to watch the occasional foreign film, the last one was an Argentinian crime/corruption/thriller 'the secret in there eyes' recently picked up a Brazilian mafia film called 'Boca' but not got round to watching it it yet
