Finally saw Beautiful Boy last night, was a bit disappointed. Had been building this up for a while but just felt the first hour was all over the place. The music did not fit at all.

Chalamet and Caroll were both excellent, just not enough to save it.

Mary Queen of Scots - 8/10

I really enjoyed it. The two leads were excellent, it's well written and the score is really compelling too.

Mary QoS - enjoyed it too. Had read some critics' comments that Margot Robbie wasn't so good as Lizzie but I didn't think that was so.

It's on Netflix; Irish petty-criminals in the nick caper. I've seen worse.

Not bad considering it's almost 3 hrs long.

Ebeneezer Balfour looks like Limmy a bit ...

Watched both Unbreakable (saw it ages ago) and Split (first time seeing it) yesterday. Both good films imo - McAvoy's performance in the latter is as good as expected.

Watched Bird Box the other night, very clever idea. Found some of the acting from the other characters a bit wooden but Bullock was excellent. Her performance kept me on tenterhooks throughout. Rated it.

Just about to watch Inception again on Netflix. Haven't seen it in years. Thought it was very good the first time I watched it so hopefully it's just as good this time. Quite a few good films popping up on Netflix now.

On holiday all this week so going to see If Beale Street Could Talk at the cinema tomorrow.

Took the kids to see Lego Movie 2. Not quite as good as the first one but still really enjoyed it.

Don't know if you're a member of Historic Scotland or not, Benoit but there's a wee Lego exhibition on at Blackness Castle near Hopetoun House. Not bad but probably for younger kids. Castle is one of the better ones so worth a trip I'd say. We were there yesterday and probably spent a good hour there at least.

You'll be absolutely sick of organ music once this is over, otherwise it's well, ... well, a one hundred year old horror flick!

Was inspired to watch it after watching Killing Zoe* on acid. Got clips of Nosferatu in it.

*Killing Zoe is a great movie too.
