My phone charger just caught fire while I had the phone in my hands

Genuine iPhone wire but plugged into one of those multiple USB plugs.

Seems there was a tear in the wire near the Lightning connector that I didn't see.

I was texting when I noticed smoke coming out the bottom then a little flame. Pulled it out the phone then unplugged it asap.

It's probably not wise to leave cheaply made electronic devices plugged in over night incase something like what happens to Sterling happens.

We all do that and the chances of it happening are low.
