Red thai chicken sandwich and a pink jammy is some top scran.
Used to live off their sausage rolls when I was a student. They've basically trebled in price in a decade though and the pastry is rarely at its flakey best anymore so I usually opt for McDonalds the bakers and their steakbakes.

Has anyone ever had a Shell Garage Peppered Steak Slice?

There are about 10 in a very small radius from my office.
In an emergency the mexican oval bite isn't the worst, tbf. Wouldn't buy a cake, but out of scottish bakers' cakes, surely a custard slice is the ne plus ultra? Rog bringing up the 'indie' sandwich shops as a cheap option, but they're all hipster as fuck around here and about £5 for a sandwich alone. So good though. Man from Iran panini from where the monkey sleeps is pinilla. Have got this wee greasy spoon near though, henry healy's, which is decent for a cheap toastie or soup.

The food options at the gyle are fucking terrible. When I'm in London I usually get a Naked Burrito from a wee place in Canary Wharf, if I'm trying to be healthy.
Plus 1 for a Pineapple Cake from Greggs.

Used to quite like the Pizza Hut express there tbh. Chili fries were dank as fuck.

Subway is shite IMO. Not arsed for it at all.
Love Greggs chat; dished out a few pozzies. Makes me happy.
Pretty much lived off (the original) cheese&onion pasties and a fruit slice, along with the Teviot Union pizzas, throughout my undergraduate years. Fucking travesty the state of that pastie now, and I don't think they even do the fruit slice. ![]() Mind, I swear I probably went back into afternoon classes with cheese dimples and sweet raisin juice dripping off my chin.

I just read they are doing home delivery in a few places now if you spend over £20

Friday evening; start of the weekend. "Well Hun, what do you fancy tonight?" "Oooh, I've been gagging on a spicy burrito and a pineapple cream tart all week. You going for yer Red Thai chicken pannini and the yum-yum six pack, Daddy-O?" "Aye fuckin' right, get the Prosecco, in the freezer, they'll be here in 20 mins".

Johnny slagging off Gregg's sausage rolls as if they're readily available with top cuts of meat elsewhere
![]() If it's wrapped in pastry and selling for around £1 it's a pretty safe bet a large percentage of it is lips and arseholes. +1 for a red Thai chicken sandwich though. Was working near the Royal Mile today and I'll second that tons of independent places fleece you a fair whack for a sandwich. Other than newsagents that serve pre-packed rolls or Greggs/Subway type places, you're looking at around £4-£5. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
