The ice cream shop on Brighton place has just been bought over by the guy who owns St Andrews chip shop, The Boathouse, Oscars chip van, and currently in the process of renovating the public toilets in Joppa and converting them into a seafood restaurant
Strangest thing is that even pre lockdown none of the businesses are remarkably good or busy bar a warm summers day when porty turns into Benidorm,

Yeah, I don't know what happened
He said he tried to summarise the question because the wording was shite and made a mess of it. His friend didn't know it anyway, so no harm done

Scrolled down that Article about Robbo getting some time off and came across a job advert to work in an abattoir.
https://hijobs.net/job/178862/skilled-sl...e-abattoir Any yous think you could cut it? "You'll hear us refer to our Abattoirs as 'Woodheads' which is one of the best known names in the British meat industry, with a history of over 100 years. Today it is a wholly subsidiary of Morrisons and we're still the only major supermarket to have it's own abattoir and meat processing operations. We have three sites in Spalding (Lincolnshire), Colne (Lancashire) and Turriff (Aberdeenshire) and process over 3,400 cattle, 15,000 lambs and 28,000 pigs per week. So it's a pretty big operation." I'd drop an acid tab on my first shift and crack on with it, i reckon.

Would just pretend each animal was Acey and crack on with the old bolt gun

Pondy has already applied and signed up for overtime.

I can't imagine the logistics of killing 28,000 pigs a week
Probably one of those torture traps you see in the documentaries, I guess. Doubt there is much bolt action going on there.

Genuinely cannot imagine a worse job. You'd come out looking like Dawid Kucharski after ten minutes.

My grandad used to work in an abattoir back in the 60s, sounded horrific
![]() You probably need to be a certain type of person but I don't think butchers and farmers see animals in the same way most of us do

My grandpa worked on a farm during the 40s and he used always said they used to castrate lambs by ripping their balls off with their teeth
![]() Plenty practise with balls in his mouth for when his grandkids came along amarite

A mate of mine got a summer job as a security guard at an abattoir. Think he turned vegetarian after 2 shifts.
