Ricksen to spend the rest of his life in a hospice here.

Very sad story, prick of a footballer but horrible to see someone who was so fit and healthy not that long ago just deteriorate. Is it likely that he will have not much longer than a year or so left now?

Probably not even as long as that. Although just because he's in a hospice doesn't mean he's on the verge of dying, usually it's because they require a level of palliative care not available in the community and putting them in a mainstream ward will just block the bed.

That was clearly the point I was making though that regardless of all that it's still brutal to see someone go through all this. Fair play to him for trying to get out as much as possible and raise awareness, I'm sure a lot of Scottish football fans will have donated money towards MND charities.

It's a terrifying thought to think of having a sound mind but your body is failing and there's nothing you can do.

Good decision. Done a great job there but only so well you can do at a team like that. They'd be as well appointing someone relatively cheap and preparing for life back in the championship rather than throw money at an allardyce or that in desperation.
