They were playing Lindelof and Smalling. Yeah, Smalling has had a decent 6 months and looks a player now, but they are in no way comparable to the consistency of Silva and Marquinhos. They aren't the reason PSG lose games.

Marquinhos doesn't even play at the back anymore, Lindelof is playing amazing the now.

Has Thiago Silva ever actually been world class? Great showreel over the years but he always seems to get run ragged when they get to the CL knockouts. The less said about his World Cup showings the better

They've been trying to play Marquinhos in midfield for years, nowhere near good enough defensively.

While I'd rather see Ajax retain them all (FdJ already on his way at season's end) and build another famous Ajax side (wouldn't that be the best thing to happen to football since pep's Barca's) it's just not going to happen. Better them end up in Catalonia with a like-minded coach.
