I've a groundbreaking idea about European competitions, only each countries Champions can qualify for the top tournament, where they have an unseeded draw and can potentially play anyone on a home and away basis with the winner going through.

Let's call that the European Champions Cup.

The teams who finish second to sixth, depending on their countries placing on the coefficient, can then play in a similar competition where they also have an unseeded draw and can potentially play anyone on a home and away basis with the winner going through.

Let's call that the Europa Cup.

And if we're that desperate to have a third tournament, let's have something called a European Cup Winners Cup.

I'm sure I've read or heard about something similar in the past.

I think the CWC was scrapped because UEFA were scared it would become the best European cup to win as there can only be 1 team from each country.
