Curler sentenced for sexually assaulting wife of rival player during game


A curler convicted of sexually assaulting the wife of a rival player has been placed under social work supervision for six months.

George Elder, 63, of Brodie in Moray, was accused of grabbing the woman's breast at Inverness Ice Centre. It was claimed that he did this to distract the woman's husband from his last shot in a curling bonspiel.
He denied the assault, which happened last February, but was convicted after a trial at Inverness Sheriff Court.

Old folk can be fucking liabilities. Had the old woman over the road moan at me because I park next to her driveway. She has a wee Peugeot 206 and she has to genuinely do a 9 point turn for some reason to get out her driveway. It's so bizarre.

Not really sure licenses should just last all your life tbh. Wouldn't suggest resitting a driving test but at least some form of driving competency thing when you hit a certain age.

If true, it probably means that one of the next president's first jobs is appointing a new SCOTUS justice.

This is my second edit: I can't decide how much of an arsehole I'm going to say he was. Going to plump for my gut instinct and say he was a massive arsehole.

He might try, but it's highly likely that the GOP will block any nomination from him. Think there's been a tweet from a spokesperson on the Senate Justice Committee which implies that any Obama nomination will be blocked.

Some of the partisan shite that Congress pulls these days is unbelievable. McConnell is going to use the Thurmond "rule" (which, as well as being named after a racist Congressman who holds the dubious honour of the longest filibuster in history when he tried to torpedo the Civil fucking Rights Act, isn't a rule AND doesn't have anything like the kind of time frame on it the GOP are claiming - certainly not 11 months) to try and block any possible appointment, whilst Ted Cruz has already commented to say that allowing Obama to appoint a justice means mandating abortion "up to the point of birth"
